April 2003
Hello everyone and welcome to 30 Something! When I was made redundant from my last job, I took one of those state funded courses for the unemployed on Web page design and, upon completing the course (about 2 years ago now!), I decided I'd do a web page so as not to forget what I'd learned. This is the result... I've tried to keep this personalised and original targeted at the girl in her 30s but certainly neither restricted to girls nor 30 something year olds. I'd especially recommend the birthdays section (bookmark it now and you'll never forget a date again...) and the babies section - you will not find this kind of stuff in any Baby Books (mainly coz I made a lot of it up myself). Then there's the food section - quick and easy recipes that actually taste good.. nice to browse round but perfect if you find yourself with a last minute dinner commitment (rush to the "really fast" entries). You'll find the site pretty empty for the time being but I've got plenty more ideas up my sleeve... just want to make sure I have a bit of traffic before putting in too much effort. The 30 something team are always looking for new ideas, suggestions and collaborators. Incidentally, I'd like to take this opportunity to thank my first two helpers for their invaluable assistance and constant encouragement; my mother-in-law Maria Lusia (see the food section) and the lovely Trudi who unsuccessfully applied for a job as an Assistant with Microsoft Office and instead took up the position of proof-reader at 30 something (pictured at work below). Thanks also to Peter Russell, Anne Marie Casey and Manolo Crespo. And so I wish you an enjoyable tour and will close with a photo of the editor and Trudi at work. Yes, this is where it all happens ... in "Jorge's" study. Goodbye for now, Caroline & the 30 something team. |
